Mace and Nutmeg for Magical Lovemaking

Mace and nutmeg are both popular spices that come from the same plant.  Mace is made from the membrane that surrounds the nutmeg and has a more subtle and sweeter flavor.  The nutmeg is a seed of the evergreen tree.  You'll see Mace showing up in recipes that include meats, sauces, curries, pickling, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce to name a few.

Nutmeg is more pungent, stronger, and not as sweet as Mace, it's used in many of the same recipes as Mace, and is delectable in it's own rights.  It's also a stimulant, and a hallucinogen when taken in large quantities.  More than four teaspoons is considered a dangerous amount, so stick to using this spice in moderation to get a great effect without getting into some serious health crisis.

These spices have been used for more than 1400 years!  Nutmeg in particular has been highly prized by Chinese women to help seduce their male lovers. In Indian Vedic writings it is recommended for headaches, fever, and bad breath. Arabian writing praises this spice as good for curing stomach ailments and as an aphrodisiac.  

In the middle ages, nutmeg was thought to ward off the plague and be a cause self-abortions. It was also very expensive and while it might not ward off the plague, it is an abortifacient. Pregnant women should probably avoid nutmeg.

The main component that makes this wonder spice, well, such a wonder, is myristicin, the base of the "love drug" MDA, otherwise known as "Ecstasy".  It's no wonder why this spice has been used in so many love potions and magic spells!  It's one of the ingredients of a magical perfume described in the most famous of all the grimoires, or black books of the sorcerers, The Key of Solomon the King.

Nutmeg is especially effective in helping with male sexual disorders.  It will increase sexual activity, libido and potency without any conspicuous adverse effects.  Try the following recipes to find out for yourself why Mace and Nutmeg can make for some magical lovemaking!

Peachy Orange Chicken

Ingredients:

• 1/4 Olive Oil
• 1/2 cup flour
• Salt to taste
• Freshly Ground Pepper to taste
• 6 fryer chicken breasts or thighs
•  1 Cup Orange Juice
• 1-1/2 Cups Sliced Peaches
• 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
• 2 Tablespoons Vinegar
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg or mace
• 1 teaspoon sweet basil
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 3 Cups Long Grain Rice

Directions:
Mix flour salt and pepper and roll rinsed chicken pieces while you are preheat oil in a large frying pan.   Add chicken to frying pan and begin to brown.  In a separate saucepan add the rest of the ingredients except for the rice and begin to simmer until chicken is cooked through, usually about 20 minutes.  During this time, cook the rice according to directions.  Place rice on a serving platter, arrange chicken and pour sauce over chicken and rice.  Serve with your favorite beverage.    

Rolled Sugar Cookies with Mace or Nutmeg

Ingredients:

• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 Cup Room Temperature Butter
• 1 Egg
• 1/4 Cup Milk or Soy Milk
• 1/2 teaspoon Pumpkin Extract
•  2-1/4 Cups Flour
•  2 teaspoons Baking Powder
•  1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or mace

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and cream sugar and butter. Add egg, milk, and pumpkin flavoring. Beat well.  Sift the rest of the dry ingredients and blend slowly into creamed mixture.  Cover and chill for about an hour.  Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface, about a 1/4 of the dough at a time.  You can cut with any kind of cookie cutter or the bottom of a glass.  Bake about 8 minutes or until lightly browned on ungreased cookie sheets.  Allow cookies to cool and use cream cheese frosting (I admit, I buy the ready made kind).  Sprinkle each cookie with just a bit of nutmeg and serve with coffee or hot chocolate.
